The racing heart. The tight chest. The restless buzz that keeps you on edge and disconnected. At Somatic Psychotherapy, we don’t just manage symptoms — we help you slow down, listen to what anxiety is protecting you from, and gently work with what’s underneath to bring real, lasting relief.
In our work together, we don’t try to fight anxiety. We get curious about it. We slow things down and listen to the body’s signals. We ask: what has this anxiety been protecting you from? What needs care, not control?
When we meet anxiety with understanding, its urgency softens. What was buried can begin to move. You don’t have to live under the constant buzz of anxiety — your body can learn new ways to feel safe.
It tightens, spins, and overwhelms to keep you from feeling what’s underneath: fear, grief, shame, loneliness.
You live in your head — constantly analyzing, planning, or preparing for what could go wrong.
Worry shows up as control — needing things to be perfect or predictable.
Your body feels like it’s always “on” — tight chest, shallow breath, racing heart, jaw tension.
You often feel like something bad is about to happen, even when things are “fine.”
You find it hard to slow down or rest — even when you're exhausted.
You overfunction or people-please to feel safe — but underneath, you feel unseen or alone.
You feel overwhelmed by social situations, decisions, commitments or even minor disruptions.
You’ve tried to “think your way out” of anxiety, but nothing seems to stick.
