Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) | Psychedelic Therapy in New York City

Expanding consciousness,

grounded in relationship.

Sometimes, talking about our struggles isn’t enough to create true healing. Some wounds live deeper, in the body, in the unconscious, in the places words alone can’t easily reach.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a doorway into these deeper layers, helping you access the emotional material and inner healing capacities that may be otherwise difficult to touch.

The medicine opens the door—relationship carries you through.

At Somatic Psychotherapy, KAP is not a medical procedure in a sterile room with limited support and containment. It is a therapeutic experience held within the sacred container of the therapeutic relationship; the trust, safety, and steady presence that allows real transformation to unfold.

Unlike the standard infusion clinic model, our approach is relational, intentional, and supportive. You will work 1:1 with your therapist for weeks or even months, building a real relationship, before the Ketamine is even entered into the equation. We are with you—building connection, fostering trust, and navigating the inner landscape together. We'll be by your side every step of the way.

How Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Can Help

Ketamine can open a window into deeper layers of the psyche—allowing stuck emotional material to surface, long-held patterns to soften, and new perspectives to emerge. Paired with depth therapy, these experiences become not just profound, but integrated—supporting lasting healing and growth.

What to Expect in

KAP Therapy

Our KAP process includes:

How do I know if KAP is right for me?

We start with a thorough intake and preparation process to assess whether KAP is a good fit. We explore your mental health history, goals, and readiness—together. And if it’s not the right path, that’s okay too.

Will I be alone during ketamine sessions?

How is ketamine provided and administered?

Frequently asked questions

You will never be left alone during a ketamine session.

Our presence is steady, compassionate, and deeply attuned to you throughout the entire process.
Preparation Sessions: Building trust, setting intentions, and preparing the mind and body for expanded states. We begin with a 1 hour long intake session and follow with weekly 45 minute preparatory sessions. (We typically do 3-4 prep sessions)
Medicine Sessions: In-person sessions with therapeutic and somatic support during your ketamine journey. We recommend somewhere between 1-6 medicine sessions (most people find the sweet spot is about 4).

Integration Sessions: Grounding your experience, making meaning of insights, and supporting embodied change over time. We require at least one integration session following every KAP session. Ideally more. Integration is oftentimes more powerful than the medicine sessions themselves. This is where we bring the insights and wonder of the experience into your day to day life.
